so today is monday may 1st. this means that if you're working or at school today...SHAME ON YOU!!! no, not really, ya'll are free to do whatever you want...
but i had me a little adventure this morning already... so my mom had the bright idea to go to the pharmacy and pick up some meds and take them to my grandparents...in mexicali. i told her that would be a horrible idea, so she called an uncle and told him we would meet him at the border fence and that we would just give him the meds through the openings in the fence.
so we get to calexico. downtown is a damn ghost town. everything seems to be closed, and there are cops, border patrol, and chp's everywhere. so we get the meds, no problem, that was the easy part. then we head on over to the meeting point. turns out the gov. got smart and put chicken wire all along the regular fencing making it impossible to pass the meds thru there. this meant that we HAD to cross the border...on foot...let's just say we forgot our figurative, imaginary nopales that go on our forehead to identify us as mexicans...
we get into mexico just fine, no problem, just hide the meds and run. once there you couldn't even move. there was a mob of people just cluttering the streets and sidewalks. mexican cops everywhere and the sweet smell of cloves was making me salivate. so we walk around trying to find my uncle. i was wearing a black wife beater...wrong color...damn, showing tattoos. as if it wasn't clear enough already that we weren't from around i was just attracting more attention to me and my mom. so people started giving us mean looks, you could just feel their stares, and all we hear is people yelling out "mexico" or "viva zapata" or "go back home gringos!" ok, stop! they just called me and my mom gringos, i don't know if that was a compliment or an insult. after walking around for half an hour and being tormented by these low life mexican's we find my aunt, not my uncle. she is almost in tears, scared to death...so is my mom. i, for once, am enjoying every minute of it! to my dismay, i forgot my camera! i'm sssooooo stupid!!!!
i'm just happy we didn't drive accross. they formed a human barrier, blocking all the lanes at the port of entry. whoever was in the car that drove up, got my deepest sympathy. i would of killed some mexicans if i were in that car with a gun. well all these losers crowded around the car and started rocking it back and forth and kicking the car! ok, wasn't this supposed to be some type of peaceful protest? what the fuck are they going to get out of all this. certainly no one is going to take them seriously when they're acting like animals!
well we delivered the goods and make a mad dash back to the USA. where the border patrol lady wouldn't let me go. she saw my tattoos and ran some sort of check on me. i guess i'm now a criminal since, you know, i'm tatted up. damn bitch! after i was cleared she let me go. my mom was furious at this point. so we get to calexico, expecting everything to be civilized. all you hear are cars honking everywhere and trucks with mexican flags all over them, blasting loud mexican music and yelling some shit about zapata. I'M NOT RACIST, MUCH LESS AGAINST MY OWN PEOPLE, BUT AT TIMES LIKE THESE I CAN'Y HELP BUT BE ASHAMED OF MY HERITAGE AND MY PEOPLE.
this was supposed to be something orderly, something that other people would see and say, "hey, they're in the right, we should join them," not "hey, look at these bunch of dumb asses, hope they get deported!"
okay, that's my little adventure for the day...
